The Flagship
Platinum 428
Forty-two feet, eight inches of post-cured carbon fiber. Two Mercury Racing 500R outboards. One promise: the strongest, lightest, most composed catamaran in its class.
Design Brief
Big where it counts.
Light where it matters.
The 428 rides on a true 40-foot running surface with a 72-inch tunnel and 26-inch sponsons — dimensions chosen with naval architects and aerodynamic specialists over a three-year development program. At roughly 6,500 pounds fully rigged, it is engineered to be the strongest, lightest catamaran on the market, with the structural integrity to back it up.
The payoff is a boat that crossed steep cruiser wakes at 110 mph in its first press review without drama, and that carves flat, confident 180-degree turns at high speed. And it’s not just our stopwatch: in Mercury Racing testing — boat fully equipped, three people and 100 gallons of fuel aboard — the 428’s acceleration and top-speed numbers beat the competitive benchmarks.
“I really appreciated their commitment … to construction technology and quality.”
Jeff Azevedo — Owner, 428 hull No. 1

Cockpit & Interior
Eight seats. Zero compromises.
Auto-adjusting suspension seats with in-house carbon-fiber shells inspired by the McLaren Senna. Rear-facing power sun-lounges with built-in storage and coolers. A center walkthrough to the integrated swim platform. A dash of 3D-printed components, customized to each owner.

Signature feature
The Platinum lounge deck
The 428 offers the first-ever rear-facing power loungers. Aft of the cockpit sit a pair of full-length, contoured, electrically adjustable loungers — with built-in storage and coolers underneath and a Platinum-embossed Marine Mat swim platform at your feet. Run it hard in the morning; raft up, recline and watch the poker run roll in by afternoon. It’s the reason the 428 is the boat everyone gathers around at the dock.

Delivered Turn-Key
Down to the trailer
A Platinum delivery doesn’t end at the rub rail. Custom triple-axle trailers are built to each boat, and hull No. 1’s owner took delivery with a full walkthrough of every system. Paint and graphics come from the best in the business — including Stephen Miles Design, the artist behind hull No. 1’s color-shifting blue-green-gray scheme.
One of one
No two Platinums look alike
Hull No. 1 wears a color-shifting blue-green-gray scheme by legendary painter Stephen Miles. For hull No. 2, we put the color choice to our fans on Facebook — 80 percent voted purple, so Lamborghini Viola it was, set off with marbleized accents in place of exposed carbon.
Your 428 gets the same treatment: your paint by artists like Stephen Miles Design, Visual Imagination and Doug Harrell Design, your stitch and upholstery palette, your dash 3D-printed around the electronics you want.

Quick answers
Platinum 428 FAQ
How fast is the Platinum 428?
The 428 is engineered for a 130-plus-mph top speed with twin Mercury Racing 500R outboards. Speed on the Water ran one to 120 mph in its first full press test, and we’ve documented 131 mph on GPS on camera.
What engines power the 428?
Twin Mercury Racing 500R outboards — 1,000 total horsepower, backed by Mercury Racing’s three-year warranty.
How is the 428 built?
All carbon fiber and epoxy, vacuum-infused with a proprietary process and post-cured. Hull and deck tooling is machined on a five-axis CNC router from the engineering model.
Where are Platinum Powerboats built?
In the United States — at our 22,000-square-foot production headquarters in Port Orange, Florida, by our own American team.
How long does a build take?
Roughly five months per boat. Production is deliberately limited to about 12 catamarans per year so every hull gets founder-level attention.
How many people does it seat?
Your choice of six- or eight-seat cockpit configurations, with auto-adjusting suspension seats and rear-facing power sun-lounges.
